台面桌从一个建筑实验中发展而来，这个实验是关于创造连接，就像在Elastika中看到的那样

2005年我在摩尔大厦参加迈阿密艺术博览会。把形式观念剥离回其组成部分;地面;结构;表面，设计在两个水平面之间创造了一个世界，这个世界成为结构，但其中的空洞表达了形式和固体一样多。这些曲线并不仅仅表现为空洞，而是定义了表面。扎哈将它比作坐在池塘上的百合，由一个看不见的、复杂的有机结构支撑的平垫。

The Mesa table evolved from anarchitectural experiment whichwas about creating connectionsas seen in the Elastika

istallltion in the Moore buildingin 2005 for the Miami Art Fair.Stripping the formal idea back toits constituent parts; ground;structure; surface, the designcreates a world in between thetwo horizontal planes, a worldwhich becomes structure but inwhich the voids express the formas much as the solids. Thosevoids do not appear merely asholes but go on to define thesurface. Zaha compares it towater lilies sitting on a pond, flatmats supported by an unseen,complex and organic structurebeneath.

Mesa becomes a microcosmic extrusion of the spatial ideas inherent in Zaha’s architecture. Form doesn’t follow only function but instead is drawn along by the narrative of the plan and flow of space. It becomes something plastic and elastic, more Einsteinian than Cartesian, an evocation of a world shaped by unseen forces and dark matter, a fluid, flowing, four-dimensional world in which a table can distort the space within it and around it. It transforms any space into a Zaha room.
